What is Tritheism?

The following is from Joseph Bingham's (in)famous sermon on the Trinity that got him booted from Oxford in 1695.

  1. Hi Justin,

Great post. IMHO, Bingham's entire sermon is a must read. I own a 1845, 9 volume edition of his, Origenes Ecclesiasticae - Or, the Antiquities of The Christian Church. His sermon, "On The Trinity", with an "Address" and "Author's Preface", is found in volume 9, pages 305-336. A bit of internet research has yielded a few online pdf versions:

    1834 edition, volume 8, pages 290-321

    1840 edition, volume 9, pages 317-438

    1855 edition, volume 10, pages 352-383

    Grace and peace,

    David

P.S. Would it be OK with you if I do a post on Bingham's sermon, "On The Trinity", over at Articuli Fidei, after the current thread 'calms down' ???

  2. Hello David,

Yes, his entire sermon is great. His entire works should be available at prdl.org.

Also, I think it would be great if you did a posting on his sermon. I'm sure it will generate more interest on the development of Trinitarian doctrine.
